New Year, New Classes!

There are now several kinds of classes offered at the IDC Center for Dance:

  • IDC Member Classes

    Professional level classes for IDC members

    Open to the broader community for a $15 suggested donation

  • IDC Community Classes

    Mixed level classes for adult community:

    - Open to all for a $15 suggested donation

    Preschool Creative Movement:

    - Focus on ages 2-4 with fun for the whole family

    Drop in for suggested donation or term registration for a discounted suggested donation

  • Rental Classes

    Teaching professionals from the community running their own businesses

    Registration, drop in, class rates etc vary from class to class

Regular Weekly Classes

Register for Classes
  • This ballet class is intermediate level, assuming at least two years of basic ballet training. Class has a traditional barre, including stretching and jumps. Center combinations follow before a small amount of travel across the floor. Class finishes with five minutes of calming stretching, breathing, and a little strength work. Intermediate Adult Ballet provides focused work in a positive, supportive atmosphere. Questions may be directed to Robin at robinpett@att.net

  • Class varies between contemporary dance forms with grounding in global dance techniques, taught by IDC members on rotation.

    Aimed at adult students who are returning to dance after a break, adult professional movement artists with varying dance training, and dancers looking to train in a different form.

    Drop ins welcome, $15 suggested donation.

  • Intermediate/Advanced Ballet technique taught by IDC collective members on rotation

    Aimed at IDC members and guests who have completed a minimum of two years of beginner level classes or have previous ballet experience. Students should have a clear understanding of ballet terminology and basic technique.

  • Care for the whole family and each other through dance. Creative movement dance activities and snacks for kids, mutual support, community, and informal snack potluck for parents and caregivers. Take a moment for joy with us!

  • Begins February 7th, 2026

  • An intermdiate/advanced level class geared towards experienced and curious movers. This class prioritizes ease and efficiency of movement and supports a playful yet rigorous practice in a welcoming environment. Movers can expect some variation of guided improvisation, floorwork, and longer locomotive phrases.

    Drop ins welcome with Instructor consent, sliding scale rate set by Instructor.

  • Resumes January 27th, 2026

    A combination of partner yoga, fascial release, pilates, and ashiatsu partner massage taught by IDC member Erica Pinigis.
